Ambiente Bikes bottom brackets and headsets

All our frames use standard headsets and bottom brackets. Of course standard is a bit of a loose term becuase there are still a number of variations of each.

For the headset it is known as a campy (campagnolo) compatible headset. That means the bearings for for an internal 1&1/8th inch head tube and use 45/45 degree angle contact bearings. Check out the Headsets for more technical information. Pretty much all BMX frames with an internal, or integrated, headset will use this setup. Bearings are available separately from the top cap and crown race so you only need to buy what is necessary. Availabel in anodised black and polished silver.

The bottom brackets kits are for mid sized bottom brackets, not the Spanish Euro or US types. Although with proper bearing cups the bearings are the same as the US setup. Available in industry standard 19mm and 22mm spindle sizes so if you run cranks such as Profiles, Odyssey, Eastern, Primo, Tuf Neck, We The People or the multitude of others on the market then you shuld be right.

Like the headsets these are available in separate parts with just the bearings or just the cones/spacers. The 19mm bearings are available in standard and premium qualities so if you run your bottom bracket fairly tight to stop your cranks rotatiing too much with no footers then you might be better with the higher quality bearings. Unfortunately the 22mm are not available in premium. The spacer kits include the internal spacer, to stop the bearings being crushed when the cranks are installed, plus two cone spacers and a few other smaller spacers of varying width to ensure everything is correctly spaced, free to rotate, the chain is aligned properly and neither the cranks nor the chianwheel are hitting the frame. The cone spacers are available in anodised black or polished silver. For more details check out the Bottom Brackets page.

There's also the removble gyro tabs that screw in to the frames if you wish to run a gryo/detangler. These are industry standard (not Fly Guiri compatible though) so it means they can be used on other frames with compatible holes and threads. For more details check out the Gyro tabs page.
